How to Promote Your New Website and Turn It Into a Marketing Opportunity
I say this to everyone that I work with – creating your website is just one part of your marketing strategy. How you get clients to your website is another huge part which cannot be overlooked.
Talking about your marketing strategy is a topic too big to cover so let’s focus on how you can make the most of announcing your new website and use this launch a little bit like a marketing campaign.
Why You Should Announce Your Redesign
Your new website can be used as a marketing opportunity. It’s a moment when people genuinely want to engage with your business, support your growth and see what you’ve been working on. Launching a website gives you permission to talk about your business in a way that feels exciting rather than salesy. People love seeing businesses evolve, and they want to be part of that journey.
Don’t waste this moment by staying quiet about it.
Soft Launch vs Hard Launch
There are two approaches to launching your new brand and website.
Some people choose to wait until everything is complete (branding, photography, website) and launch it all at once in one big announcement. Others prefer to share each element as it’s ready: new branding first, then updated photography, then the website. Both approaches work. The first creates one significant moment of impact. The second builds anticipation over time and gives you multiple opportunities to engage your audience.
Choose the approach that feels right for your business and how you want to build momentum (I’ll be writing a separate blog diving deeper into this soon).

Tools You Can Use to Announce Your Launch
Instagram This is likely where most of your audience is already paying attention. Posting about your new website will probably get good engagement on one post because people genuinely love to support and celebrate business growth. But the way to really make the most of this is to remind people what this does for them.
Have you updated services, pricing, or added new offerings? Have you refined your messaging or made your services clearer? Frame your announcement around what’s changed for your clients, not just what’s changed visually.
And don’t just do 1 post about it – people need lots of exposure to remeber and to engage. Post reels, carousels, stories, static images. Mocks ups of your website, a video of you opening your laptop, tie a bow around your laptop and unveil your new website?
Newsletter Your email list consists of people who’ve actively chosen to hear from you. Use your newsletter to give them an exclusive first look or a more detailed behind-the-scenes story about the process. This is also the perfect place to explain what’s improved and why it matters. I recommend breaking this up over 2-3 different emails.
Update Your Instagram Bio Once your website is live, make sure your bio reflects that.
Word of Mouth Tell your existing clients directly. Send them a personal message or email letting them know your website has launched and inviting them to take a look. These are people who already know and trust you so they will probably be genuinely interested – it’s also a great opportunity to reconnect with people and start a new converstation, potentially leading to them booking with you.

What People Actually Want to See
Posting a single announcement is fine, but here’s how to make your launch feel more engaging:
Behind the scenes Document your website journey or share your experience working with your designer. People love being part of a journey as it makes them feel connected to your business. Talk about what surprised you, what you learned about your audience or what challenged you during the process.
Pre-launch hype You don’t have to wait until your website is live to start talking about it. Build anticipation by sharing sneak peeks, discussing what’s coming, or explaining why you decided to invest in a redesign. What has been your favourite part of the process? What are you most excited for people to see?
Before and afters Show your old website next to your new one. Talk about what’s changed and why. This gives people a tangible sense of your business evolution and makes the transformation feel real.
What it means for your audience This is the most important part. Don’t just say “I have a new website” explain what this means for your audience. Have your services become clearer? Is booking easier? Can they find information faster? Have you added resources or tools that help them? Frame the launch around their experience.
Creating Content Around Your Launch
Your website launch isn’t just one post, it can generate you content for weeks. Here are ideas to stretch the moment:
- Share what you learned about your audience during the process
- Post about specific pages or features you’re proud of
- Talk about why you chose to invest in professional design
- Explain what the rebrand represents for your business direction
- Ask your audience what they think or invite them to explore specific sections
The more you can turn this into a conversation rather than a one-time announcement, the more engagement and visibility you’ll create.
Keep Everything Consistent
Launching your website is an exciting milestone and it’s also a good time to review the rest of your business materials. Do you have PDFs, presentations or business cards that could be updated to stay consistent with your new brand? Keeping everything aligned strengthens your professional presence and ensures your audience experiences the same visual identity across every touchpoint.
My Recommendation
Your new website represents months of work, strategic thinking and investment so don’t let it go unnoticed. Use the launch as a genuine marketing opportunity to create engagement, share your journey and remind people why this matters for them.
This is one of the few moments in business where talking about yourself doesn’t feel promotional, it’s a celebration.
